Care Instructions – Biarritz Terry Towel Collection Our Biarritz bath towels are woven in France of the finest 100% natural, unbleached long-staple cotton, with dobby stripes colored with natural vegetable dyes. Treat your Biarritz towels like heirlooms and they will last a lifetime.
When your Biarritz towels arrive, the fibers of the 100% natural unprocessed cotton will be closed. Wash the towels in hot water with a good soap or detergent, and the cotton fibers will open and be more absorbent. The fibers will continue to improve over several washings, get softer and more tactile as you use them.
NEVER use fabric softener or dryer sheets of any kind. These only reduce the absorbency of the fibers.
If you have your towels monogrammed, tiny transparent slivers of the film used to protect the loops during embroidering may remain. Do not be concerned. These will wash out.
Care Instructions – Symphony Bath Collection Light and modern, the Symphony Bath Collection bath towels in response to clients who asked for a lighter-weight and pure white option. Symphony Waffle is made of a single layer of 100% cotton in a waffle-weave. Symphony Waffle-Terry is made of the 100% pure cotton waffle-weave bound to 100% pure cotton terry. Both styles are generously hemmed in 100% linen. Pure White only. Woven in France. Treat your Symphony towels like heirlooms and they will be.

Care Instructions – All Jan de Luz Tablecloths Our Jan de Luz tablecloths are 50% natural cotton and 50% linen (Basque stripes) or 100% cotton damask (Leiho panes). All colors are 100% vegetable dyes especially chosen to stay bright and true through the years.
For normal care, wash your Jan de Luz tablecloths in hot water with a good soap or detergent. The cotton fibers will be "closed" at first, and open with the first and subsequent washings. They will become softer, more tactile with continued use and normal care.
Dry on medium heat until slightly damp; then steam press with a medium-warm iron to bring the sheen and beauty of the cloth alive. Never over-dry or use high heat.
For those times when stain removal is necessary, try spot-clean by spraying Pine-Sol on the stain before washing. (Sssh, this is a secret.)

Monogramming and Embroidery We suggest, in the options presented for each item, a selection of recommended colors for some items. These recommendations are based on our history of past orders and our own experience. For the Polar Fleece Bath Robe, for example, we suggest neutral colors – Ivory, Champagne, Linen and Light Linen – that look fabulous against the pale fluffy fleece. If you would like another color from the full Color List, however, please just ask. Use the Comment Box next to any item.
Jan de Luz Bath Products Yes, Jan de Luz developed our exclusive line of bath products, experimenting with scents and formulations over several years until he was satisfied. Then the real test: daily use by Jan's wife, Brigitte. No product made the cut unless it was soothing and healthful for both skin and spirit after six months of daily use.
And no, we do not allow animal testing in the development of any of our bath products.
Returns and Exchanges We want you to be happy with your purchases from Jan de Luz and offer store credit toward an exchange on all products, EXCEPT, understandably, we cannot offer exchange or refund on any monogrammed item or bath or pantry items that have been opened.
